I am a freelance designer in Portland, OR. For the last two and a half years, I worked at Nemo as an interactive designer. I regularly contributed to Nike 6.0 projects and also worked on Smith, HP, and Nike Boots sites. Click through some highlights below, check out my resume, or browse my photos.
Nike 6.0 Site
Design
I contributed to Nike 6.0 projects for over two years. I assisted with three launches and completed regular site maintenance, such as designing home and product touts. During my time at Nemo, I enjoyed working with team members to create a unique and compelling online representation of the brand.
Nike 6.0 Newsletters
Design, Development
I designed many 6.0 email newsletters as part of the interactive team. I worked with the art director to best present the events, awards, or online features being promoted in this format. After the design phase, I coded the newsletter and prepared the files for delivery to Nike's email vendor.
Nike 6.0 Zoom Oncore Ricochet Feature
Design, Development
In March '07, I designed and developed the Ricochet Zoom Oncore feature. The project is included on the 6.0 site and promotes the shoe, which was sold in limited quantities. I collaborated with the art director to create a feature that showcased a beauty shot, descriptive text, and a pre-built 360 shoe spin.
Nike 6.0 Mogan Mid iD Touts & Banners
Design
I helped produce a home page feature, product tout, and three banners which linked to the new Mogan Mid iD shoe. As the designer, I communicated with team members to create layouts that both emphasized the shoe's vivid colors and invited click-throughs. Nike was delighted with the resulting designs.
Dreamlife Site
Design, Development
In Spring '08, I completed the design and wrote the HTML and CSS for the Dreamlife site. During the development phase, I set up several CMS tools, including a custom Wordpress blog and SlideShow Pro Director. I coordinated with the art director and project manager to create a site that met the client's needs.
Smith Exclusivo Site
Development
During Fall '08, I developed the Smith Exclusivo site. The site promotes an eighties-themed sunglass collection and required Flash animation. I collaborated with the designer and art director to make the design web-ready. I particularly enjoyed crafting the paper-tearing transitions, the gleams on the glasses, and the product rollovers.
HP Blackbird Banners & Landing Pages
Development
I developed multiple home page banners and coded corresponding landing pages for HP's Blackbird site. One of the more intricate banners advertised the Electronic Arts game, Spore. It was quite a challenge to optimize the animation, but I succeeded in creating realistic movement with a small file-size.
Nike Boots Site & Banners
Development
In October '07, I assisted with production and development for the Nike Boots site launch. When Nike requested some additions to the site in November, I completed the required tasks. I added images and scrolling functionality to the Boogie photo gallery. I also designed several banners that advertised the shoes and drew visitors to the site.
Granger Smith Site
Design, Development, Project Management
While freelancing in '05, I designed and developed a site for singer/songwriter Granger Smith. The site integrated an mp3 player, photo gallery, blog, and storefront for merchandise. I maintained the site until January '09 when Granger signed with a distribution company. I am so glad that I contributed to his success.
